While the start of the school year signifies joy and hope in many parts of the world, for Kinda Hassan, a four-year-old Palestinian girl, this beginning has turned into a nightmare. The siege that has overshadowed her area for a month has deprived her of going to school. With tear-filled eyes and a broken heart, Kinda sits at home, having no idea about the new world of school and her classmates.
A Siege That Dims the Future
Israeli settlers have put daily life for Palestinians under pressure by creating severe barriers and restrictions. This situation not only affects the morale of the people but also plunges the future of a generation born with hopes of education and progress into darkness. Kinda and her family, like millions of other Palestinians, have fallen into despair and fear because of these sieges.
The Silent Voices of Palestinian Children
Every passing day, similar stories of Palestinian children emerge who are deprived of their most basic rights due to dire living conditions. These children are victims not only in wars and conflicts but also in the ordinary course of life. Although Kinda has not yet had the opportunity to study, she has become a symbol of this generation. A generation whose dreams are destroyed by unjust and violent policies.
Governments and international organizations must address this situation and listen to the voices of these children. They have the right to go to school, play, and pursue their dreams. But as long as these sieges continue, these wishes will remain only in the shadow of fear and despair.
